About Trev Strummer:
Singer Guitarist and Songwriter Trev Strummer is originally from Beeston, Nottinghamshire but now lives on the Isle of Axholme having relocated there in 1990. He has performed at Pubs, Clubs, Concert Halls and Festivals throughout the Midlands and North of England with bands and more recently as a solo performer since the 1970’s. His band Reflex were the first to bring live music to the Greyhound in Beeston and played there usually twice a month from 1979 to 1982
Trev still loves to go out and play the music he enjoys the most, which is a mixture of Vintage Rock N’ Roll, Old School Rhythm & Blues and 60’s/70s Classics.
He’s also a proficient songwriter writing most of the songs for the original bands he performed with in the late 70s and early 80’s, playing punk, new wave, pop & rock.
After playing in covers bands for many years in 2010 he decided to take a break from this and returned to writing and recording his own material which he’s performs at open mic sessions, and the occasional gig or festival. His songs are a unique blend of the many genres that have influenced him on his musical journey and have a hint of Rock and Roll, The Blues, Pop, Punk and Country. The themes are drawn from personnel experiences, observations and occasionally tip a hat to his own musical heroes. These have received positive feedback when he’s played them live and some have even been played on local and internet radio stations.
